Zaira Wasim molestation case: Accused man says he only touched her feet

Vikas Sachdev, the man who was accused of molesting actress Zaira Wasim, has now come forward with his version of what happened at the Vistara Delhi-Mumbai flight. Zaira, in an instagram video, accused him of molesting her, by rubbing her shoulders, neck and back with his feet. Vikas, who was apprehended by the police for on the charges of molestation, has said that only his feet touched Zaira Wasim, and he had apologized her for the mistake. He was returning from the funeral of his uncle (Mama ji) and had told the crew of the flight to not disturb, as he was very tired. He didn’t have any meal because he wanted to sleep all through the flight.

In the Instagram video, Zaira was seen crying ans asking who will save the girls if such actions from men were ignored or weren’t punished. She looked pained and was diligent in taking appropriate actions against Vikas.

A case was lodged under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and Indian Penal Code Section 345 (assault with intention to outrage a woman’s modesty) against Vikas. Zaira also met the officials in a Mumbai hotel to discuss the situation and narrate her version of the events, she was also accompanied by her mother.

The incident has been heavily scrutinesd and criticized by many people, as the Phogat family has come in support of Zaira. Zaira, won a national award for portraying the younger self of Geeta Phogat in the Dangal, which became the highest grossing Indian movie of all time. While some people have come in her support, others have also questioned her intention about making the Instagram video and not alerting the authorities immediately while the assault was going on, in place of showing it to everyone.
