Tu Hai Mera Sunday movie review: Delightful and invigorating.

Tu Hai Mera Sunday movie review: This comedy infused with drama stars Barun Sobti, Shahana Goswami, Vishal Malhotra, Avinash Tiwary, Jai Upadhyay and Nakul Bhalla among others. Tu hai mera sunday has been written and directed by Milind Dhaimade and produced by Varun Shah. The film is described as a ‘slice of life’ film, but do not let the genre fool you. Bringing ‘lifelikeness’ to the big screen in a captivating yet realistic way is no easy task and Tu hai mera sunday achieves just that.

Plot: The storyline of the film follows the life of five friends: Arjun, Rashid, Dominic, Jayesh and Mehernosh, living in India’s concrete jungle, Mumbai. The five of them have their own share of problems and their struggle with ‘adulthood’ but as a ritual indulge in playing a game of football at the Juhu beach, every sunday. They find solace in this activity which helps them escape their worries for a little while. As the story progresses, as a result of an unfortunate incident, they are banned from playing football at the beach which puts an end to their much ‘looked forward to’ sunday ritual. In their struggle to find a new place to play, we get an insight into their individual lives and the hardships they are going through in their personal spaces.

According to the director of the film, Milind Dhaimade, the film is based on the life of his real life friends. All the characters have different yet similar struggles, that of finding contentment, peace, purpose and happiness. Be it from their corporate slave-life, the regret of not following their dreams, their bad- habits etc.

Performances: The film churns out relatable and natural performances from all its actors. The effortlessness is a treat for sore eyes.

Catch Tu Hai mera sunday at a theater near you from 6th October, 2017.
