Toilet- ek prem katha song ‘Toilet ka Jugaad’ released by Akshay Kumar

Toilet- ek prem katha unveils a promotional song called Toilet ka Jugaad. The song has come out exactly a week before the release of the film. It is an agenda song which talks about the disadvantages of not having concrete toilets in rural part of the country. The song also takes a sarcastic note when it says that world has gone to Mars but 54% of India still defecates in open fields. Song also raises important concerns like women safety and death of children due to infection from defecates. Akshay Kumar is the sole person from the cast in the song and has also sung it with Vickey Prasad.

This promotional strategy could work very well for the film as the similar strategy was conceived by Shahrukh Khan for the promotion of his film when he released the song Phurrr from Jab Harry met Sejal. The song is completely based on the importance of toilet and takes a hard dig at hypocritical values of this country of not allowing toilets in the home because this is where they cook food but think that sending their women to open field is alright.

Akshay Kumar has lend his voice wonderfully to the song, where he appeals directly to the viewer to show concern about the lack of toilet issue, which affects a large part of the country. The song is not in the narrative of the film but might come in the end credits. Bhumi Padnekar is not the part of this promotional song very similar to Phurrr where Anushka Sharma was not a part of the official video with Diplo and Shahrukh Khan.
