Toilet – ek prem katha first day box office prediction

Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is an upcoming comedy-drama film staring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Padnekar in the lead roles. Film is directed by Shree Narayan Singh, whose making his debut with this film. Toilet has a very humble budget as it is set in the rural part of India but the film got its hype because of Akshay Kumar’s star power. Akshay Kumar has said in a statement that no one was ready to do the film till he joined the project. This film is Akshay Kumar’s low budget in recent years. His last few films Airlift and Rustom have performed phenomenally at the box office garnering approx 128 and 129 crore respectively on the box office.

Akshay Kumar’s biggest hit till date is Rowdy Rathore which has a lifetime earning of 134 crores. Akshay Kumar is not the mega star who will give a 200 or 300 crore collection at the box office but his performance on box office is stable. Kumar’s last few films have been about patriotic service to the country and one such is Toilet – ek prem Katha hence these films are not mounted like blockbusters. Housefull 3 is a hit film with 109 crore despite its brand value, entertaining nature and huge star cast hence if a realistic issue based film like Airlift does 128 crore on the box office than star is clearly being permitted by his audience to do more such films.

Akshay’s films are not biggest openers but because of like ability towards the content they run for at least 4 weeks in the theater and get that many eyeballs. Usually with an event film ticket rates are increased but not with Kumar hence predictability could be done as far as toilet is concerned. Toilet first day collection should be around 14-16 crore and lifetime would be somewhere between 120-130 considering the screen count and independence day holiday.
