Tiger Zinda Hai movie review: Salman, Katrina are here with a blockbuster for ages

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are here with Tiger Zinda Hai, which is a chronological sequel to 2012 blockbuster Ek tha Tiger. In Ek tha Tiger salman played a raw agent who is almost super human with his abilities but a weakness for love. Agent Tiger falls in love with the Pakistani agent Zoya (Katrina Kaif) and goes rogue with her as the situations between countries would never let them stay together. Directed by Kabir Khan (Tubelight, New York) Ek tha tiger became the biggest hit of the year, hence a sequel was always in the pipeline. In Tiger zinda hai Zoya and Tiger are staying together as a family until hell breaks loose in middle east and R.A.W calls upon their favorite agent to deal with the situation. An emerging power in middle east has held a lot of people as their hostage in a hospital, which includes Indian nurses. Tiger and Zoya are handling this mission together as they dwell into some boombastic action sequences.

Undeniably Tiger Zinda Hai is the biggest film of the year and director Ali Abbas Zafar has packed the film with heat and extraordinary heroism. Ali has made Sultan with Salman and that film outgrossed pretty much everything Salman had done up till that point. Performance of Salman is regular as he mostly is but the man sure knows how to deliver punchlines. Katrina and her stunt double have done a marvelous job dodging bullets and beating men thrice her size. Film is filled with so called commercial element such as dialoguebaazi, grueling guns and blazing bomb blasts all thanks to the direction and stunt team.

It must not be easy to tackle death in the name of action and some of it is actually pathetically dangerous, hence one should congratulate those people in accomplishing what they have in this film and over the years in the field of cinema. Music of the film is average though background score is electric and is played at the right moments. Editing of the film is quite pacy as it needs to be but also slows down and pours emotion when it does. Overall Tiger Zinda Hai is a blockbuster everyone is waiting for as event films are mostly dying in Hindi cinema.
