Tiger Zinda Hai box office: Touches 300 crore mark, blockbuster!

Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger Zinda Hai touches 300 crore mark on box office. It is the elite club of films, which has done 300 crore plus business in India only. PK was the first film to touch that mark and since than it is the third film of Salman to have the magic wand. First Salman film to conquer that territory and his biggest hit in 21st century is Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which did 300 plus crores in India and more than 600 worldwide. Salman’s first film with Ali Abbas Zafar was Sultan and it did cross the epic 300 crore mark as Salman was highly appreciated for his portrayal of a Haryanvi wrestler.

Tiger Zinda Hai, sequel to Ek Tha Tiger is on it’s way to become the fourth highest grosser in all of Salman Khan filmography which Includes Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan. Tiger Zinda Hai opened 3 crores less than Sultan with 33.63 crore opening but finally on it’s 16th day crossed the 300 crore mark. Tiger is experiencing a dream run as post it’s release on 22nd December no important Hindi or English film has released on Indian box office. Jumanji got a minimalist release even in metropolitan cities of India but collections of Tiger are also coming from smaller towns continuously.

It was in the nature of the story that Tiger might also have a third part to it ans chances are that YRF would not leave such an important intellectual property alone. Blockbuster success of Tiger has healed the distributor wounds of Tubelight. Post the release of Tubelight, Salman had to return money to distributors of several states as the selling evaluation of the film was more than it’s collections. Such is not the case with Tiger Zinda Hai as Yash Raj Films got their edge back from this venture which was totally missing post Sultan.
