Tiger Zinda Hai box office: Film all set to cross 200 crores, lifetime of Ek Tha Tiger

Tiger Zinda hai is racing towards the graceful mark of 200 crores on the box office. Salman Khan celebrated his birthday yesterday while audience gave him the gift of one of the biggest blockbuster of his career. Lifetime collection of Ek Tha Tiger back in 2012 were 198 crores upon which it was declared as a blockbuster. Ticket rates and number of screen counts hve gone remarkably higher from 2012 to 2017 though overall industry collections has only gone down. Despite of this being perhaps the roughest year of Hindi cinema, Baahubali and Tiger Zinda Hai are the only saving grace.

Tiger opened to 34.10 crore on friday, leaped to 35.30 crore on saturday and recorded it’s highest day so far on Sunday earning 45.53 crores. The advantage Tiger had is that Monday was also a holiday hence it garnered 36.54 crores but it also managed to pass the Tuesday test by getting 21.60 crores. Tiger is right around the corner of beating lifetime of Ek Tha Tiger and also surpassing Golmaal Again’s lifetime of 207 crores. In any case Tiger can only become the 2nd highest grossing film of the year because absolutely nothing is going to touch Baahubali: The Conclusion. Despite of the fact that Salman’s Tubelight performed quite poorly on box-office, Tiger managed to get a good opening though it was a little behind Sultan.

Due to the enormous success and good word of mouth of Tiger, one can except that it has become a full fledged franchise and maybe it will have a part 3 sometime in future. Also, after delivering 2 back to back successes with Salman, director Ali Abbas Zafar has joined hands with him again to collaborate on Bharat, which will release on EID 2019. Ali Abbas Zafar said in an interview that Bharat is inspired from a Korean film and the script was given to him by Salman, which is the other way around considering he wrote and directed both Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai.
