Tiger Zinda Hai becomes Salman Khan’s biggest blockbuster ever

Salman Khan starrer Tiger Zinda Hai has now gone beyond expectations and became the career biggest hit in India collections. Salman’s biggest hit use to be Bajrangi Bhaijaan with lifetime India business of 320.34 crore, till Friday Tiger has done a business of 320.32 crore. On Saturday of it’s fourth week Tiger will surpass Bajrangi because the difference is of 2 lacs only. Despite of the fact that Tiger is in it’s fourth week, the film had done more business than any new release on Friday. Tiger went onto did 1.46 crores and the next biggest day belonged to 1921 with 1.26 crores.

After inflation it could be said that Hum Aapke Hain Kaun is Salman’s biggest hit of all time but in actual numbers it is Tiger Zinda Hai. This is Salman’s second collaboration with blockbuster director Ali Abbas Zafar after 2016 mega hit Sultan but Tiger has exceeded that mark as well. Tiger Zinda Hai is a sequel to 2012’s blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger and sequels tend to attract more crowd especially if they are good. If Tiger Zinda Hai was a standalone film than the number might have been a little less but still it would have out-grossed many films because word of mouth is immense.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan was a stand alone original concept and still it opened to the maximum Salman Khan opening though Tiger Zinda Hai’s opening was a little less than it and Sultan as well. It could be taken as the after effect of Tubelight as that film clearly tanked at the box office and fans were upset because word of mouth was not kind. Salman had to return money to the distributors of that film and he made it all back with Tiger and how. Salman has a line up of next 2 films, one of which is Race 3 as it will release on EID 2018 and Bharat on EID 2019.
