The shock of the sudden death of legendary actress and the first female superstar of India, Sridevi, is not going to fade from the collective consciousness of the nation and the world. Sridevi died from a massive heart attack in Dubai, where she’d gone to attend the marriage of Mohit Marwa. Sridevi suffered the attack in the bathroom of her hotel room, fainted and couldn’t be revived. But even as the whole world mourns her loss, Sridevi is still to receive a funeral, since her body is still in Dubai and the police authorities are trying to ascertain the cause of death. The hotel staff had discovered the actress in the bathtub.

5: 41 (IST): Dubai police is now checking the phone records of Sridevi, owning to the fact that she died by drowning in the bathtub of her hotel room. The dead body won’t be released until the matter is resolved properly.

2: 03 (IST): According to the sources, the Dubai authorities are going through procedure of forensics by having a test to ascertain if Sridevi had taken anything which could have caused the unexpected attack, or if she was given poison. There would be a clearance from the department, then a death certificate is going to be provided, followed by embalming, cancellation of passport  etc. All this procedure is going to take time, hence, Sridevi’s body could reach Mumbai by 7 PM, which would make the cremation unlikely for today.

4:02 (IST): The Dubai polcie authorities have handed the forsenci report to the family of Sridevi.

4:29 (ISt): According to the reports Sridevi died by drowning in the bathtub.

Sridevi was the first female star to achieve success in India, with Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi movies, becoming a pan-India star, which is still rare. She used to sell based on her names, and not the actors. She’s considered to be one of the most versatile actress’ in Indian cinema with popular roles in Lamhe, Sadma, Mr. India, English Vinglish and many more that brought her acclaim.
