It has been officially confirmed that Sridevi’s body has been released from the Hospital morgue in Dubai. It will now be taken to the embalming centre, and then prepared for flight back to her home, Mumbai, India. The embalming issue doesn’t take place more than ninety minutes, so her body will arrive in Mumbai through a private plane of Mukesh Ambani, and could land in the evening. The release letter of Sridevi’s body has also been given to the Indian embassy officials. Sridevi died on 25 Feburary 2018, and the cause was accidental drowning in the bathtub of her hotel room in Dubai. She didn’t suffer from heart attack, as was previously reported and had traces of alcohol in her blood.
There have also been reports that Sridevi also suffered injuries to the head, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Boney Kapoor could be asked to stay in Dubai, because he is the prime witness in the case, and without him the investigation could stall.
Sridevi, considered to be the first female superstar of India, who not only conquered Bollywood, but also worked in Malayalam and Telugu language movies, has been considered one of the greatest Indian actress’. Her sudden demise has left many shocked and severely saddened. Message of appreciation for her art and work have been pouring in from around the world, as she had fans everywhere. People have just been waiting to say their final goodbye to a legend who gave her everything on-screen and will always remain immortal in the heart of people.
Update: Dubai Police has handed over the Consulate and the family members letters for the release of the mortal remains of the Indian cinema icon Sridevi Boney Kapoor so that they can proceed for embalming.
