The entire Hindi film release schedule domino has shifted a hundred folds because of the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial epic Padmaavat starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. Padmaavat and Padman were suppose to clash on the box office on 25 January but in latest turn of events Akshay Kumar has postponed his film to 9 February on the request of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In a brief joint press conference, Sanjay Bhansali and Akshay Kumar announced that Padman is now being shifted to 9 February as Padmaavat has already enough on it’s plate to fight with.
According to the actual release calendar, Padman and Aiyaary were suppose to clash with each other on republic day but as announce as Viacom 18 announced the release of Padmaavat, Aiyaary immediately shifted it’s release date to 9 February and will now clash with sonu ke tittu ki sweety. Anushka Sharma starrer Pari was suppose to release on 9 February and to avoid this clash the release date got shifted to March 2. Now since Padman and Aiyaary are now coming on the same date, there is a good chance that Sonu Ke Tittu Ki Sweety might change it’s original release date.
Akshay Kumar is going through the golden phase of his career and none of his films are stopping before 120 crores, similar could be the fate of Padman as the hype around the film is real. Neeraj Pandey has grossed hundreds of crores with his films and Aiyaary was an exceptional trailer that was very well received by the audience. In the middle of this lies Luv Ranjan’s Sonu Ke Tittu Ki Sweety, which has Pyaar ka Punchnama team behind it but not nearly enough credibility as the former films. March 2 is given to Pari and Parmanu with Sushant Singh Rajput’s film also releasing on the same day by the name of Drive.
