Shashi Kapoor, the legendary actor and romantic hero passed away from an ongoing illness at the age of 79. Shashi had been suffering from Kidney problems, and had been on dialysis for some months, and died in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. His funeral is scheduled to be held at 12 PM this afternoon, in Santacruz Crematorium, and will be attended by the celebrities all over Bollywood and the television industry. He died at 5:20 PM yesterday and after the announcement there was a flurry of condolence from everyone around the world and the biggest actors in the Indian Film Industry, Amitabh Bachchan.
As everyone has been celebrating Kapoor’s work and achievement’s in the industry, others have come forward with their experiences of meeting and working with him. Amitabh Bachchan praised his charisma and acting abilities, saying that he had no chance of being recognized when he was with Shashi Kapoor.
Shashi’s body has now been taken from the hospital, and will be delivered to his home, from where the family members and friends will join in the final ceremonies, before leading a procession to his funeral. Shashi was one of the most recognizable stars of Bollywood and his loss will be felt for a long time.
