Sarkar 3 is out with a dark and menacing new trailer

Ram Gopal Varma, who at one point was a celebrated filmmaker known for gritty films etched in the political reality of the times we are living in, has, over the past decade, lost his touch. But one look at the trailer of Sarkar 3 and you see a glimpse of the old RGV. Of course when you have Amitabh Bachchan on screen bringing a character to life, it surely helps. Sarkar 3 which was originally supposed to hit the screens on April 7, but got delayed for unknown reasons, will now be releasing on 12 May and the makers have come out with another trailer giving us a glimpse at all the characters in the movie.

Sarkar 3, which as the name suggests is the 3rd movie in the Sarkar franchise (now making it a trilogy), follows Sarkar (2005) and Sarkar Raj (2008) after a span of nearly 9 years. This political crime thriller stars Amitabh Bachchan in the titular role along with Ronit Roy, Manoj Bajpayee, Jackie Shroff, Amit Sadh and Yami Gautam among others.

This trailer showcases the film as a revenge drama, with different characters up against Subhash Nagre (Bachchan) trying to take him down and end his dominance. Amit Sadh plays Sarkar’s grandson who has a volatile personality where as Yami’s character is seen trying to avenge her father’s death. With Ronit Roy as his right hand man, Sarkar deals with his rivals in the form of Vallya (Jackie Shroff) and the cunning politician played by Manoj Bajpayee. The trailer is dark and menacing with the background score taking it a notch higher.

Amitabh Bachchan recently tweeted that a couple of portions of the film were being re-shot.

Well, with a powerful trailer like that and so many powerhouse actors, Sarkar 3 looks like an interesting watch.
