Sanjay Dutt to do the Hindi remake of Telugu film Prasthanam

Prasthanam is Telugu political-thriller released in 2010 to wide acclaim and box office. Sanjay Dutt to play the lead role performed in Telugu by Sai Kumar. Dutt will be the lead hero of the film with the rest of cast yet to be finalized. With his second innings in Hindi films, Dutt is planning to play it on front foot with his upcoming release Bhoomi, which also stars Aditi Rao Hydari and Sharad Kelkar. Dutt has several other projects like Torbaaz and third film in Munnab bhai franchise to go.

Prasthanam is a story about rural politics in the country and how it affects poor man. It also tackles the theme of nexus between businessmen and politicians. Prasthanam was shown in Indian Panorama section of International Film Festival of India, Goa. Torbaaz is also one of his most exciting films as it is set in Afghanistan against the backdrop of terrorism and child suicide bombers. Torbaaz will have 3 leading ladies and international starcast of Iran and America.

Munna bhai series has been on hold for longer than time itself and even after 11 years of its release there is no sign of shooting to begun. Abhijaat Joshi, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani  are still writing the film, while Hirani is shooting a biopic on Sanjay Dutt starring Ranbir Kapoor. Prasthanam will apparently go on floors in March, 2018, while Bhoomi will release on 22 September, 2017.
