Rough Night movie review: Great Friends, Terrible Choices in Cinemas now

Rough Night movie is an American Dark comedy directed and written by Lucia Aniello along with Paul W. Downs. It is finally set to release on 16 June 2017, to make your weekend full of comedy with thrilling moments. This movie stars Zoë Kravitz, Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell and Ilana Glazer as best friends of the college. It is produced by Matthew Tolmach, Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Dave Becky under the banner of Matt Tolmach Productions along with Paulilu Productions. It is a story based on five best friends bachelorette with a messy comedy thriller.

The plot of the story set upon the five best friends from college who reunites after 10 years for a wild bachelorette weekend in Miami. The College roommates Jess (Johansson) and Alice (Bell) along with other girls have been tight ever since their old freshman drinking days and have maintained an unbreakable bond from those days. And they also grown, the gaps have started to push on the bonds and changed tremendously as people. In a bachelorette weekend, they accidentally kill a male stripper during the hard partying. This is the comedy movie with thriller and keeps twisting itself knots trying to find fresh angles. Dying is easy, comedy is hard as this movie continues with this and suddenly in a comedy, someone dies.

Director Lucia Aniello aims high in going popular with her first feature. She is best known for the writing and directing of web series “Broad City.” But she has difficulty making tonal shifts between raunchy humour, serious drama and action. Rough Night starts out cheerful, entertaining, comedy movie with some wonderfully weird moments. But those scenes or moments never truly stiffen with movie’s eventual life or death stakes.

So, get ready to watch this dark comedy with lots of twists and suspense.
