Raju Gadu movie review: An entertaining romantic comedy

Raju Gadu, directed by Sanjana Reddy and starring Raj Tarun,  Amyra Dastur, Rajendra Prasad  among others is a funny romantic comedy that uses wit and charm to make sure that the audiences ignore its narrative short comings. The movie isn’t something groundbreaking, and its pleasures are only limited to its running time, but it will entertain you and you won;t be bored while watching it. The character played by Raj Tarun is one of the reasons that the movie is going to hold your attention. Since he is not your typical broody and broken hero, he is funny and fun loving kleptomaniac named Raju, who falls in love with a girl, and seems to think that she can cure him from his tendency.

In a twist on mother son relationship, Raju’s mom is encouraging of his crimes, and doesn’t care much about his mania. This also leads to some very funny conversations in the movie. As said, the narrative isn’t strong throughout to make the movie truly memorable. But it is enough to keep you engaged, which is more than can be said about some movies these days. The humor is also used well, and is novel not like the cheap jokes that are used by the writers as a way to pull laughs from the audiences. Here, you are likely to laugh because of the character and situations, that enhance the pun that is being made.

So, all in all, the movie in a great one time watch, and even you happen to love the movie, you can always come back to it, because there really isn’t anything in it that can’t be revisited.
