Rajkumar Hirani is all praise for his actor Ranbir Kapoor for his performance in Dutt biopic as the teaser will be released on 24 April. Hirani has directed the likes of Aamir Khan and Boman Irani so it must take a lot to impress him but Ranbir is self admittedly director’s actor. Any director who focuses on a film with a bound concrete script would love a director’s actor but someone who wants to prepare the scene instantly and improvise would have to have an actor who can breathe some life in the character other than what director has in mind.
Hirani is a quite literally a god in his films because he writes, directs and edits his own film so he knows every inch and bit of a frame and how it is going to come out which is why he would love someone like Ranbir to follow the vision. Hirani is not only telling the story of Dutt but he actually knows him as a friend way better than the star he has made films with hence one might have to consider the possibility of his script having a lot of empathy for Dutt than objectivity.
Hirani and his co-writer Abhijat Joshi have made this clear that they don’t like to write the film like a news where they look at the story objectively but actually make an obvious point from it that they so want to. Hirani has given the biggest blockbusters in the history of Indian cinema and there must be producers quite simply begging to sign him but he never walked out of Vidhu Vinod Chopra films as they gave him his first break. Hirani also co-produces his film under Rajkumar Hirani films banner and his collaboration with someone like Ranbir was just bound to happen as two great talents meet.
