Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘2.0’ has been in the wings for a long time now and it’s teaser might see the dark of cinema by the end of February. Makers have announced that their film will release on 14 April, which is the Tamil New year but speculations are that film will be further postponed one or two months as the VFX is taking a long time. 2.0 was suppose to release on Diwali of 2017 but due to irregularities in post production, makers had to rely on new dates which nearly killed the buzz of audience.
Film stars Akshay Kumar as an anti-hero for the first time and it will be his first Tamil film. Rajinikanth will reprise his role as Vasikaran and robot while Aishwarya is replaced by Shankar’s long time muse Amy Jackson. 2.0 is literally the most expensive in the history of Indian cinema as the budget is going upto 400 crores, which is one and a half time any Baahubali film stand alone. 2.0 is a sequel to 2010 blockbuster Endhiran and is officially the first ever Indian film to be actually shot in 3D.
2.0 might be one of the last film in the long string of Rajini’s career because he has clearly announced his political ambitions for 2021 elections. Rajini has completed the shooting of his other film Kaala as well which is in post production now and will release after 2.0. Lyca productions put out some making video of the films back in time and it looks gigantic, the magnitude of this film. 2.0 will be released in almost all languages in the country on the same day because it is one of the most awaited film of all time and since the budget is extraordinary the film will need as many screens as well as people to come and buy the tickets for this mega project.
