Rajinikanth starrer ‘2.0’ to clash with ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ ?

Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 has been waiting in the wings for the longest time now to get an official release date on which the film will actually release but has not happened so far. 2.0 was actually suppose to release on Diwali 2017 but later it got postponed to April 2018 to release on Tamil New Year now that spot is filled by another Rajinikanth starrer called ‘Kaala’ because 2.0 can’t seem to finish and actually release in cinema halls. Shankar took a very big leap by deciding to shoot it in 3D which makes the VFX process tougher by a million times.

At one point it was announced that 2.0 will hit the cinema screens on republic day but even that did not work out properly. Whenever a film pushes a release date, it’s budget gets extended and 2.0 is already the most expensive Indian film of all time. 2.0 costs almost as much as both the Baahubali films which is why the makers want to get it right because a film this massive should not be risked on box office or the losses will be unfathomable and nothing like anyone has seen in Indian film production.

Speculations are that film might release on Independence Day 2018 but Akshay Kumar who plays the antagonist in 2.0 already has a film by the name of Gold, announced to release on that same day. Gold already has a teaser out which is one step more than 2.0 and it clearly states that the film will release on Independence day as such is the theme of it. If not Independence Day than 2.0 might actually release on Diwali 2018 which would mark the biggest clash of all time in the history of Indian cinema because Aamir Khan has his upcoming epic Thugs of Hindostan releasing on that festival. Both the films are of gigantic proportions and the clash should be avoided as far as possible.
