Raid box office collection: Ajay Devgn mints box office with a havoc this time

Ajay Devgn is certainly one of the most consistent actors in Hindi cinema who has been doing fantastic work since early 90’s and has only contributed milestones to his very well deserved stardom. Ajay is one of the very few actors in the world who can balance out the most mainstream and subtle classic story all in one body. He has the punchlines as well as nuances and he used both of them quite accurately in Raid which is why the collections are going through the roof and only because of good word of mouth.

Raid started a good 10.04 crores on a Friday which is pretty decent for not a flagship film and a little off topic from the mainstream. Raid is a realistic film based upon the real incidents that happened in 1981 Lucknow. Ajay played a man who existed and how as an Income tax officer and conducted one of the longest going raids in the history. Audience really liked the content in it which is why film took a 38% jump on the Saturday to rise and earn 13.86 crores. Ajay is prone to more severe collections but mostly with a franchise film like ‘Golmaal Again’.

Business rose unexpectedly on Sunday and film garnered a massive 17.11 crores which lead to the first weekend collection of 41.01 crores. Raid is a medium budget film while most of the budget must have been profited in music and satellite rights only. This kind of collection is a proof that Ajay has a massive star power and his film can not go unknown if it is good. In all his films, he has earned 2213 crores for the film industry. Some of his highest weekend grossers have been films like Singham Returns, Golmaal Again, Golmaal 3 and Bol Bachchan while Raid comes very close in the race despite of being a realistic venture.
