Horror interlaced with comedy is an interesting genre and upcoming malayalam film Pretham Undu Sookshikkuka is trying its hand at exploring that. The film which is all set for release this friday has been directed by Mohammed Ali and Shafeer Khan. The talented duo has also written the screenplay for the same. Mahi has taken the producer’s seat under the banner of Superstar Films with Francis Kannookadan discharging the duties of an executive producer.
Pretham Undu Sookshikkuka is a thrilling yet comic tale surrounding a haunted police station which was earlier a mansion located in a housing society troubled by ghosts. The film reportedly has comedy and horror infused in equal proportions. The spirits residing there do not take well to the police officers intruding their space and therefore cause mayhem. The horrified police officers then approach a taxi driver named ‘Ethics Babu’ who is notorious yet earnest, to resolve the issue of the ghosts. The following events where Babu along with his gang tries to unearth the mystery of these spirits, form the crux of the film.
Ethics Babu has been portrayed by the young star of malayalam cinema, Shine Tom Chacko who is known for his work in films like ‘Aan Mariya Kalippilanu’ and ‘Popcorn’. Apart from him, the leading ladies of the film are Kalhara making her debut and Leena Maria Paul. The film’s star cast also includes Hareesh Kanaran, Hareesh Peradi, Pashanam Shaji, Abu Salim, Shammi Thilakan, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Kalabhavan Haneef, Sunil Sugatha and Anjali Upasana among others.
Faiz Chowdhary and Nishad have penned lyrics for the film where as Hesham Abdul Wahab is the music composer also responsible for the background track which is of prime importance in a horror film. Cinematographer Aniyan Chithrasala is behind the camera, working his magic.
