Prabho Shivaji Raja Marathi movie review: A colorful, exciting and knowledgeable animated movie

Prabho Shivaji Raja, directed by Nitesh Muley, and with the voice cast of Umesh Kamat, Sachin Khedekar and Dharmendra Ghomil, along with others is an animated movie that tells the story of the life and times of the legendary Maratha warrior, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja. It is a tribute to the spirit and bravery of the king warrior, who has become a legend god for Maharashtrian people and all over India too. The voice cast is uniformly strong, with the dialects perfectly showing that the actors have done their homework and aren’t speaking with a modern inflection that often takes away the enjoyment of the movie.

The animation is initially underwhelming, as there are scenes where it shows that not much money went into making things and character seems just drawn by hand. However, as it goes on and the narrative becomes even more exciting, the animation becomes much better and there are some very breathtaking visuals that are centered around Shivaji that is surely going to be treat to watch on the big screen.

Most of the times, when India tries to make an animated movie, there is always skeptisim because the people don’t have access to the kind of technology that is held by the western studios, still, it is very commendable that some people have the courage to still make movies like this and even pave the way for others to join them in using creativity to tell stories.
