Omerta trailer released: Rajkumar Rao is a terrorist in Hansal Mehta’s movie

The trailer for the movie, Omerta has been released. It stars Rajkumar Rao as the terrorist Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheik, who was from British but from a Pakistani descent. He was responsible for the 1994 kidnapping of westerners in India, the incidents on which the movie is based. He is currently serving a lifetime prison sentence for plotting the murder of the wall street journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002. As always, Rajkumar looks like he really slipped into the skin of this evil person, and his performance seems equally sinister and innocent, which is crucial for a story that is based on a criminal.

Omerta was shown in international film festivals, like the Toronto Film Festival last year and although it didn’t make an impact with the critics, who called it a superficial study of a criminal, Rajkumar Rao, as always attracted for his performance. The movie is going to be released on April 20 2018, and it looks like the buzz around it is quite muted. But, Rajkumar has shown last year that he can take a movie on his shoulder and make it successful, like he did for Newton, a movie that no one had heard about until it was released, and which made an impact on the Box office based on its merits.

Rajkumar is currently shooting a movie with Kangana Rananut, called Mental Hai Kya and he has already shot a new horror movie, Stri with Shraddha. Not only these movies, he will also be seen alongside Aishwarya Rai in Fanne Khan.
