Nibunan Tamil movie: Arjun’s 150th, Set For July 28 Release

The cop-thriller Tamil movie ‘Nibunan’ is all set for a mega release on July 28. The movie stars ‘Action King’ Arjun, Prasanna, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar and Sruthi Hariharan, and is directed by Arun Vaidyanathan. Nibhunan is Arjun’s 150th release and marks 32 years in the Tamil film industry, and he looks the part as the top cop in the posters. Arjun will play the part of a DSP who excels at his job but struggles to balance work and family, in a relatable theme that is backed up by a screenplay that the creators are confident will keep the audience glued to their seats. The songs, penned by Madhan Karky, Arunraj Kamaraj and Arun Vaidyanathan, are already a hit with the public and a good release is quite on the cards.

The multi-starrer is expected to stir interest with the Tamil audience, after a string of flops that have the industry scampering. In a media interaction, Arjun said that it was great to work with Arun Vaidyanath as he was thorough with the workings on the set. Talking about his character, he said that the cop he plays this time has been portrayed in a different dimension, as he is the intelligent and competent policeman who has his own weaknesses as we all do. Arjun was also confident of the screenplay written for the film, stating that its brilliance would certainly make the film a hit.

The film was shot in Bangalore and Chennai. Vaidyanath had the story in mind for quite some time but had begun writing it only in December 2014. The screenplay was jointly written by Anand Raghav and Arun Vaidyanathan. Unlike most movies, Nibunnan is a bilingual movie shot in Kannada and Tamil. The movie has been produced by Passion Film Factory and is set for a release on July 28.
