The Mummy movie review: Adventure with horror is back again

Finally, the wait for Tom Cruise fans is about to over as The Mummy movie is set to hit the cinemas screen tomorrow on 9th June, Friday. The mummy thrilling adventure horror movie is the first film in the Dark Universe film series by Universal Picture. This movie features superhero Tom Cruise along with Annabelle Wallis, Sofia Boutella, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, Marwan Kenzari and Russell Crowe in lead roles.

It shouts to be an action, mythology, horror and comedy resulting in conflicting force with massive set pieces flying at you in 3D. Tom Cruise is back to launch the summer reboot of the Mummy that classic chiller about the reestablished corpse from ancient Egypt. In this movie Tom Cruise seen as a combatant lovable rogue in the same vein as Indiana Jones making some seriously questionable decision throughout the movie. Annabelle Wallis wanders as the damsel-in-distress is constantly in need of rescuing. Russell Crowe as a Nick Fury-ish leader hams it up with vague motives spewing campy exposition. Your eyes will be glued to one character that is Sophia Boutella who abundantly mesmerising as Ahmanet “The Mummy” she transitions from creepy violent monster to a seductive goddess with ease. but her impact is reduced from the screen time devoted to convincing the love triangle of Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis.

The story of the movie revolves around the disturbing wax statue of thousands of years of a princess who worshipped as a god entombed in his own riches and status which remarkably well preserved. it is the horror movie about the taboo and transgression based on the myth about the mummy curse which has no basis in the Egypt history but is a colonialist invention which recasts something supernatural and irrational. It is the superhero origin and the thrilling adventure horror movie in which a betrayed Egyptian princess is back from the dead to take revenge. She unleashes terror beyond human understanding and determined to reclaim all that should have been hers.
