Mubarakan, directed Aneez Bazmee, and starring the father-son duo, Anil and Arjun Kapoor, along with Ileana D’cruz is going to have its Television Premiere on Sony Max, tonight at 8 pm. The movie is about twin brother who suffer a life altering car accident and grow up in the care of their uncle, Kartar (Anil Kapoor), who is a bachelor. The movie recieved many positive reactions from both critics and public alike, who thought that even though the film doesn’t break any ground, it is still a solid comedy movie with winning performances from Arjun Kapoor, and especially, Anil Kapoor, who, in the minds of a lot of people, stole the movie from everyone.
The movie did a very good overseas and in the domestic market, even though it had not gotten the kind of exposure and promotion to make it a 100 crore hit. It was still able to earn a reported 93.5 crores. Recently, Anil Kapoor even won the best supporting actor for his performance in the movie. Mubarakan was also talked about for its representation of the Sikh community, although some of the critics questioned the jokes pointed at them and wrote that they feel either quaint or tired an d humor can instead be utilized in other manners too.
But, the chemistry between Anil and Arjun was the most talked about aspect of the movie, and Arjun was also praised for playing twins with gusto and giving a hilarious performance too. Ileana D’cruz was also noted for her performance, even though people said that she deserved more attention int he movie. Everything considered, this seems to be the perfect family friendly film that people can watch if they want to spend their time with something pleasant and laugh at jokes. The movie is almost two and a half hours long, but time passes by when you’re in good company.
