Mom movie review: Sridevi makes a flawless comeback

Mom the most awaited 300th movie of Sridevi is finally in the theaters today after her last seen performance in English Vinglish, 2012 .The cast of the movie comprises of Sridevi along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Akshaye Khanna, Sajal Ali, Adnan Siddiqui and Abhimanyu. The movie reminds us again about the Nirbhaya gangrape and how unsafe Delhi streets are for girls. It also talks about a sensitive and emotional relationship of a step mother and daughter.

School girl Arya Sabrawal gets gang raped after the valentine party by some boys from her school. Next day she’s admitted to the hospital and identifies the rapists but the accused boys get bailed from the court. Her step mother Devaki (Sridevi) a biology teacher in the school, sets on a mission to take revenge from these boys. She takes help from the private investigator Daya Shankar Kapoor (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) but the inspector Mathew Francis (Akshaye Khanna) keeps disrupting their path.

The story is hard hitting on our society and judical system. The movie hits the right chord in depicts a 21st century mom and create an inspiration for women. Sridevi has an impactful role which is sure to leave a mark in our society. Her versatility and perfection is one every b- town actor  should take a note of. Nawazuddin Siddiqui look and role both deserves a standing ovation. Akshay Khanna tough CBI officer look and attitude gels with the movie plot. Not only the story but the music of the movie is also very impactful and the reason for this is no one but the talented Oscar fame AR Rahman who has composed the music of the movie.The movie gives us the glimpse of a revenge drama that is expected to surely make a change in our society. Recommended one time watch especially for all the women.
