Two new posters from the upcoming movie, Mental Hai Kya, have been released. It stars Rajkumar Rao and Kangana Ranaut, who will be collaborating together after they were seen in the blockbuster hit, Queen, which launched Kangana to national acclaim and was instrumental in the rise of Rao as a promising actor. The movie is going to be directed by Prakash Kovelamudi of Anaganaga O Dheerudu and Size Zero. Ekta Kapoor is producing the movie, and unveiled a different set of posters yesterday, captioning them with, “accept ur madness with nonchalance! Normal is boring! Take it as a compliment if someone asks MENTAL HAI KYA.”
About the movie, and her character, Kangana has said, “You’re never sure if this girl is hallucinating or what’s happening to her if for real, whether Rajkumar Rao’s character is trying to trap her or she’s got him wrong.” It is certainly a very interesting subject, since Mental illness is seldom explored properly in Bollywood movies. It will also give the two exceptional character actors to work with much in depth about the condition of their characters.
Rajkumar Rao has become one of the most acclaimed actors in Bollywood, and his reputation from a supporting actor to a leading man has been seamless, with many praising his effortless performances and choices of the movies. Kangana, however controversial, is also one of the most sought after actress’ in the Hindi cinema these days and it looks like she’s going to deliver another great performance.
