Makers of Ramayana signed memorandum of understanding with UP government

Ramayana is touted of being India’s biggest film till date with an elaborated budget of 500 crores. Film is produced by Madhu Mantena, Allu Aravind and Namit Malhotra. Recently makers have a signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Uttar Pradesh as most of the film will be shot in the state. Film makers have been wanting to put up film sets outside of Mumbai for a while now as the film industry is growing everyday but film city is not and there is only so much space for films to work on.

Since everybody is fighting for the same arena, it becomes highly expensive to put up enormous sets in there which is why perhaps makers want to make the best use of their money and shoot the film in Uttar Pradesh. Absolutely no details of cast and crew is being put out by the makers considering it’s mammoth film and people want to make use of this. Since they have zeroed down on the place of shooting there must be some progress about who is going to shoot whom in that place.

Speculations are that this film is a 3 part trilingual being made in 3D but makers have not confirmed any of those details which is rather surprising as everything is usually maped out to the last detail for such an enormous election. Success of Baahubali has inspired many and gimmicks are all over the place now. Tamil actor Vikram has signed on for a film which is about a Mahabharata warrior Karna and that film has a budget somewhere along the lines of 300 crores. Apparently superstar Aamir Khan is working his way into producing a three part mega budget Mahabharata in which he will certainly play an important role but even that is not confirmed yet. SS Rajamouli’s making of Mahabharata is taking rounds of rumors forever now with zero confirmation.
