LIE Movie Review and Rating : Love, Intelligence and Enmity are outlandishly present in the Telugu film

LIE movie is a Telugu action thriller movie staring Nithiin and Megha Akash. Treatment of LIE is relatively original in comparison to Telugu thrillers, which more or less look the same. LIE has all the elements of a Telugu thriller and it has Nithiin who is uncannily compose on the screen. Nithiin is so much at ease in front of the camera, it seems as though he is oblivious to the crew and all the hoola hoop of a film set. Nithiin’s ability to not seem so forceful in front of the camera infact invites the eyes of viewer in awe of something which is rarely there in Indian cinema. Our actors who work in mainstream cinema are obliged to play to the gallery or shout out loud if they see a camera around them but Nithiin was largely effortless.

Plot of the film is devised with mystery and thriller with a suspense waiting for the audience every 20 minutes. Screenplay of the film runs very fast allowing very less space for the emotions to flow in but this film is designed as a mathematical equation like Nolan’s Memento or Murugadoss’s Ghajini. Performance of Nithiin was phenomenal as he is able to bring a distinctive style of acting in Telugu cinema after a long time. Megha Akash has lend good support to Nithiin and plays more than just a pretty girl on screen. Arjun Sarja has played completely to the gallery and looked the odd one out in this stylish flick because of his old bag of tricks.

Director Hanu Raghavapudi does complete justice to the screenplay, it seems like Hanu understands the concept that one directs a script to make into the film rather than directing film. Hanu has shot very smartly and left enough space in the scenes or the heavy background music to come right in. Editing and VFX are upto the mark with jump and flash cuts. LIE makes itself a good watch for this week.
