Akshay Khanna is known to be a person who is very choosy about his movies. And therefore, he chosed to work with the team of Mom which casts Sridevi and Nawazzudin Siddiqui. Mom is Sridevi’s second movie after her comeback in English Vinglish.
The first poster that came out had Sridevi seething with silent anger with the Mom written in different languages around her. The trailer dropped in, and we were hooked onto the promo, though it didn’t reveal. For me, it was the fact that AR Rahman is scoring music for the movie, that reeled my attentions. Rahman’s name means quality stuff, even if a couple of them end up being like Mohenjo Daro. Now the makers have released two new posters for Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna‘s characters.
While we have already seen Nawaz’s poster, let’s put some focus on Akshaye Khanna here. Rumoured to be playing a cop in the movie investigating a case in which Sridevi’s character is involved, Akshaye Khanna has nailed the steeliness of his role in the above poster. It is great to see Akshaye in any role, after he returns to Bollywood taking a short break with Dishoom last year. In Dishoom, he was the main antagonist. And now in Mom, he seems perfectly happy playing a supporting character to Sridevi’s main lead. Although it seems that he has something interesting in his role.
The evergreen actress also tweeted about Akshay’s poster saying, “Don’t believe what your eyes tell you”.
