Veere Di Wedding starring Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar has been pushed from May 18 to June 1. Film was pushed because all the other films are being pushed as Padmaavat is now releasing on 25 January. Film are being rescheduled interms of release since 1 December because a mammoth film called Padmaavat was suppose to release but due to overwhelming controversies, it could not. The whole Hindi cinema calendar year looks very different now as the first film that got rescheduled was Aiyaary. Siddharth Malhotra starrer was suppose to release on 26 January and clash with Padman but a fight with Padmaavat on box office is something nobody wants.
Aiyaary got postponed to 9 February and than Pari shifted it’s release from 9 to march 2. Due to this John Abraham starrer Parmaanu does not have a release date now. The after effects of this earthquake could be seen in June 1 as makers of Veere Di Wedding shifted it’s release date by two weeks and more film are bound to rotate. Veere Di Wedding has been a passion project forKareena and Sonam as they were trying to get it made for years now.
At the end of the day Sonam’s sister Rhea Kapoor is serving as one of the producers of the film with Ekta Kapoor. Veere Di Wedding is directed by Shashanka Ghosh and also stars Permanent Roommates famed Sumeet Vyas. Web series star will play Kareena’s love interest in the film. Sonam had a lot of trouble finding finance for the film and she also gave a statement in one of her interviews that to get budget for a film with female protagonist is very difficult and it is nowhere close to what Varun Dhawan and John Abraham got for their heist thriller Dishoom. Veere Di Wedding is a story of 4 women in a wedding and how their lives take turn from that.
