Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapoor are going to star in the epic drama movie that is going to be directed by Abhishek Varman, who also made the critically acclaimed 2 States, starring Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor. The movie is product of Fox Studios, Dharma Productions, and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment collaboration. The story for the movie is written by Shibani Bathija. Director Karan Johar, and his father Yash Johar had planned the movie 15 years ago, and as the reports indicate, it is set in the 1940s and will be a family drama.
The movie had previously named Shiddat, and the late Sridevi had been cast in the role which is going to be essayed by Madhuri Dixit. There had also been rumors that Sanjay Dutt is going to leave the movie, but now its clear that they were unfounded, and he really is part of the project.
Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt had been attached to the movie for a long time, and this is going to be their fourth collaboration with each other, following Student of the year, in which they debuted, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. This is surely going to be an ambitious project, because there are hardly any big ensemble movies in Bollywood, and with prestigious stars like Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt, this is going to be one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
