Raai Laxmi, Ravi Kishan, Pankaj Tripathy starrer Movie Julie 2 is an erotic thriller and sequel of Julie 2004 where Neha Dhupia was in the lead role. The story revolves around the angles of lust, ambition, greed, and betrayal. The story writer-director Deepak Shivdasani beautifully strings all these angles in the movie. Julie 2 is a story about the rise and fall of an ambitious actress and her experiences with glamour industry. The story includes the roaring affair of Julie with superstar Ravi Kumar (Ravi Kissan), Further, her affair with a cricketed ends up crudely when a cricketer denies to marry her as she has been with too many men before him. All the men in Julie’s life are jerks, lechers and potential rapists which made her, to go for self-destruction and depression.
Debutante Raai Laxmi performance in the movie is impressive and the way she portrays her character crumbles to the ground. She has the firm grip on her character’s messy life which proves her acting skills. People also shocked to see Pahlaj aka the ‘sanskaari’ ex-CBFC chief to be associated with the film.
The movie has unexpected twists and turns and not all of them convince the viewers. Old-fashioned high-pitched melodrama movie which takes on an actress’ journey from zero to wow. The story can make the movie one-time watch.
