Jab Harry met Sejal song “phurr” is launched by Shahrukh khan, who took to twitter to give the very first teaser of yet unreleased song from his upcoming film . The song was done in collaboration with American singer/rapper “Diplo”, as Shahrukh khan gave the news away a while ago in one of his promotional interviews.
The visuals in the teaser of the song are rather unusual as they don’t show any of the footage from the film but rather showing ordinary people of Mumbai chanting the word (phurr) in a monochromatic footage. Jab harry met sejal has garnered extreme hype because of ever-growing marketing genius of Khan, who is leaving no stone upturned to make sure that his streak of only average hits gets broken by this. Recently Shahrukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and director of the film Imtiaz Ali were seen promoting their film in Varanasi. With all the other promotional tactics and media appearances, this new song will help the film to get noticed in foreign markets because of the presence of Diplo, who is a highly celebrated musician in America and several other parts of the world. Reason for doing this promotional song could be the fact that both Shahrukh Khan and Imtiaz Ali have not seen great success post the release of Chennai Express (2013) and Love Aaj Kal (2009) respectively. Ali’s last few films (Rockstar, Highway, Tamasha) despite being appreciated by the critics have gotten polarizing reactions from the audience.
While the films of Shahrukh Khan earning decent coin at box office and largely favorable reviews has not done the magic numbers on box office like his counterparts, Salman and Aamir Khan. Jab Harry met Sejal is going to be released worldwide on 4th august 2017.
