Director Shree Narayan Singh and Ekta Kapoor is all set to make Dr Verghese Kurien’s biopic

Films inspired by real stories are now in the trend and the taste of the audience. Ekta Kapoor collaborates with director Shree Narayan Singh to bring the real-life story, based on the Milkman of India, Dr Verghese Kurien (Amul). Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures has acquired the film rights which chronicles the life of Dr. Verghese Kurien, who dedicated his life to give the best Milk industry of India named as Amul (The taste of India). Shree Narayan Singh is in talks because of his recent hit “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” which helm this new inspirational and biographical social drama on the Man behind ‘Amul’. Dr Verghese Kurien is a famous social entrepreneur had won many awards for his great achievements. In 1965 Dr. Kurien was honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri, also  Padma Bhushan in 1966, and Padma Vibushan award in the year 1999.

Television queen Ekta Kapoor said while Speaking about this ambitious project, “Balaji has always strived to bring interesting stories on the television screen. The story of Milkman of India (Dr Verghese Kurien) is extremely inspiring for the youngsters of the country. I am delighted to collaborate with the Director Shree Narayan Singh to tell the true visionary story of Dr Kurein”.

Moreover, the Director Shree Narayan Singh said, “The role of Dr Kurien will be empowering the general public, especially women, at the grass-root level. Dr Verghese Kurien was a visionary businessman, philanthropist and also a great human being. He was wanted to study nuclear engineering but did in the dairy engineering and become a MilkMan of India.”

Apart from that, the director Shree Narayan Singh will soon start shooting for his upcoming “Batti Gul Meter Chalu“. This movie deals with the issue of electricity bills, starrer Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam in lead roles. The film, “Batti Gul Meter Chalu” is all set to hit screens on August 31 this year.
