In the last one week in Indian film land, numerous records were broken and new benchmarks were set but nobody is complaining because well, records are meant to be broken. There was a period in Bollywood when being in the 100 crore club was considered to be prestigious and every film aimed at the 100 crore mark. But times as well as the economics of films have changed drastically in the last 5 years and now we have a 300 crore club in Bollywood inaugurated by Aamir Khan’s 2014 blockbuster P.K. Both Salman Khan and Aamir Khan have two films each in this club and the latest entrant is S.S. Rajamouli’s epic saga Baahubali 2.
Hindi film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the same recently.
