in a historic judgement today supreme court of India lifted the ban tat was imposed by four states on the ban of Padmaavat. Four states namely Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana had banned the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial epic Padmaavat in their respective states despite of the fact that Censor Board of Film Certification has cleared the film with an U/A Certificate for an all India release on 25 January. Since Padmaavat has been under major scrutiny for a while now, makers decided to reach supreme court and eventually got judgement in their favor.
Supreme court completely disregarded the state ban of Padmaavat and lifted it by portraying there is such a thing called artistic voice and liberty in the country. BJP Leader Suraj pal gave his statement on supreme court’s decision by saying that he country will be torn apart if Padmaavat gets a release. He also said that supreme court has hurt the sentiments of lacs of hindus who respect it and the consequence will be faced by the country upon the release of this mega controversial film. Suraj Pal is the one who had announced 5 crore bounties on the heads of Sanjay Bhansali and Deepika Padukone.
In their decision supreme court also mentioned that states should provide extra security to the cinema halls during the time of release. Suraj Pal has said in media that the protest against the film will continue even if he is hanged to death. The radical violent mindset of Suraj pal is the reason why certain exhibitors indifferent states are afraid to put the film in their cinema halls as the protestors might cause the damage to life and property. It is not just about the cinema halls but also the expensive malls which house these theaters and violent protestors could damage the people who are generally inside the mall and not for the film. Padmaavat will release on 25 January.
