Bid Adieu to Stand-up comedian- Donald Jay Rickles

A comic career of 60 years came to an end on Thursday when famous American stand up comedian and actor Donald Jay Rickles took his last breath. Best known as an insult comic, his pudgy, balding and appearance and combative style led to few leading roles in film and television. He received widespread exposure as a popular guest on numerous talk shows like The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson and Late Show with David Letterman and latr voice roles in films notably including Mr Potato Head in the Toy Series.

He also worked in documentaries named Mr Warmth:The Don Rickles Project in 2007 and also won a Primetime Emmy Award. Coming to his personal life, Rickles married Barbara Sklar of Philadolphia, Pennysylvania. He had a very difficult time romantically in his 20’s and 30’s and he married at the age of 38, finally meeting Sklar through his agent and falling for her when she failed to get his sense of humors. They get 2 children Mindy and Larry Rickles.

Upon hearing of his death, a number of television actors and hosts paid tribute to his comedic personality. Among them were tributes from Bollywood actors like Farhan Akhtar, Boman Irani and Hollywood people like Jimmy Kimmel were grief-stricken ad showed their grief by posting about him on Twitter which are as follows:

Boman Irani Tweeted: ” THE DAY COMEDY DIED. MR WARMTH IS NO MORE. RIP DON RICKLES”


Farhan Akhtar Tweeted: “MR DON RICKLES, THANK YOU FOR THE DECADES OF YOUR LAUGHTER YOU PROVIDED
