Babumoshai Bandookbaaz will go through 48 cuts from CBFC

Makers of the film Babumoshai Bandookbaaz are in trouble as Central Board of film certification led by Pahlaj Nihalani has ordered the makers to have 48 cuts in the film. Cuts will include kiss and cuss words from the film despite the fact that makers were ready to get an A certificate from the board. Nawazuddin Siddiqui starer garnered the limelight since the trailer of the film came out. Also the producer of the film Kiran Shroff has launched a complaint against CBFC members to Indian Films and television director’s association (IFTADA) alleging that the board members misbehaved with her during the screening.

IFTADA has registered the complaint and will have a meeting regarding this on Wednesday. On the other hand Kushan Nandy (Director of the film) has approached Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) saying that censors board ordered the cuts despite of an A certificate because they can’t ensure if kids won’t watch this film in cinema at all. It happens be the duty of law enforcers to make sure that if a film has been rated A than miner should not be allowed in the theater at all costs.

A committee led by Shyam Benegal has approached the government with the idea that films should get away with the cuts and rather certified in accordance to the content. Committee report given to the government also states that the films should be certified A in different categories according to the explicity of the content, government has not accepted the report yet. Babumoshai Bandookbaaz will hit the theaters on 25th august.
