Baahubali: The Conclusion wins ‘Best Popular Film’ at National Awards

Directed by SS Rajamouli, ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ has won ‘Best Popular Wholesome Entertainment Film’ at 65th National awards. It is one more proud feather in an already rather elongated hat of the film which is decorated with as many honors as they give. Category suited the bill right for the film as audience as already awarded it as the most entertaining film of all time and box office numbers would suggest that opinion. Rajamouli took to micro blogging website and congratulated his entire team to win the glory at such a prestigious ceremony.

Award functions have lost all their credibility in the country because of selling out every other second and National Awards are pretty much the only one’s who have managed to maintain their dignity by staying unbiased. Baahubali won ‘best action direction’ and ‘Best Visual Effects’ as well. All of those and many more are very well deserved for the film which has managed to not only sweep away this nation but most of the world as well where they watch films. Indian cinema is not the most respected in other countries because some film makers try to western their films but sometimes the most global thing one can do is to stay local in purity.

Rajamouli’s film has high cultural aesthetics crafted with in the actions of characters in the story but still western world or south east Asia was able to connect with it so well. Film has completed 100 days in Japan, which is a lot more than any other Indian film in that country. Baahubali has managed to put some credibility back in Indian cinema for foreign audience and rest of Indian cinema will be benefited by it. It has shown other film makers that if you can dream it than you may achieve it.
