Arjun Rampal shares the story of how ‘Daddy’ began

Daddy is an upcoming film based on the life Arun Gulab Gawli staring Arjun Rampal in the titular role. Arjun Rampal posted an aspect of Daddy’s making about how he got the rights to make the film. Rampal revealed when he started shooting till the last day of the film makers did not have the rights of Gawli’s life. Arun Gawli is called by many names, activist is the word some people use and some refer to him as a gangster. Rampal has had an association with Gawli during which time he promised Arjun that he will have the rights to make the film on his life.

An event in cinema history has never been recorded when someone shot the film on the life of a real famous person without rights. This kind of situation could go either ways for the producer as the film could have gone into dispute if Gawli had denied the rights. Rampal also said that on the last day of his shoot he got a call that Gawli is out now and he wants to see him. When Daddy met Rampal, he asked him about the film and Rampal told him that i went ahead because of your promise and that your lawyers have not been as interested in the situation.

Rampal gave him the contract and requested him to sign then and there. Despite the fact that Gawli is not proficient in English language he simply trusted Arjun and signed the contract. Official trailer of the film is out there and the film will release on 8 September 2017.
