Arjun Kapoor took to twitter to announce that he has finally wrapped the shoot of his upcoming film Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar. Prolific Dibakar Banerjee is the director of this film and is first time working with Arjun Kapoor. This is Arjun’s tenth film and second with his first female co star Parineeti Chopra. Parineeti’s second and Arjun’s first film was Ishaqzaade produced by Yash Raj Films, who have bank rolled this one as well. Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar is a comedy thriller adventure about a cop and a girl who go missing, Arjun plays the cop in here.
Release date of Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar is third August 2018 which will Dibakar Banerjee all the time in the world to edit this film. Dibakar has worked with Yash Raj Films before in his detective classic Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, which was based on Bengali literature starring Sushant Singh Rajput in an outstanding performance. Byomkesh did not work well on the box office because of poor promotional strategy and precisely the reason why second part of this film is not green lit yet. Banerjee has worked with YRF on a film called Titli, which he produced and YRF distributed.
Parineeti Chopra started her career with YRF in a film called Ladies VS Ricky Bahl which starred Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Parineeti was one of the many female actors in the film which was lead by Anushka Sharma. Parineeti than got her first lead role in a romeo juliet adaptation Ishaqzaade directed by Habib Faisal starring Arjun Kapoor as the male protagonist. Ishaaqzaade did very well on the box office and launched two successful films in the Hindi film industry. Dibakar is making a film after a long time and this seems totally out of his territory but he has pulled off quite unreasonable projects in the past like Khosla ka Ghosla.
