The Accidental Prime Minister, directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte and starring Anupam Kher has wrapped up first schedule in Broughton Hall Estate, London. The team is going to begin its next schedule in India from the next month. Akshaye Khanna also stars in the movie, and is going to play the role, which is being described as a political commentator. Aahana Kumara is going to play the role of Priyanka Gandhi, while Suzanne Bernert is going to essay the role of Sonia Gandhi. The movie is based on the novel of the same name, written by Sanjaya Baru, who was the media advisor to the Ex prime minister.
When he wrote the book, it was alleged that it portrayed Manmohan as a weak leader who was more influenced by the decisions of Sonia Gandhi, however, Baru has said that his book is actually a compassionate portrayal of the leader.
The movie is going to be released on December 21 2018, but there has been a controversy about it already, as when Pahlaj Nihlani was the head of the CBFC board he said that the team behind the film will have to take a no objection certificate from the people on whom the movie is being made. Now that he is not the head anymore, maybe the makers will be able to avoid such inconvenience.
