Akshay Kumar’s Padman postponed to avoid clash with Padmaavat

Akshay Kumar starrer Padman was suppose to clash with Padmaavat on the box office on republic day but it seems that makers of Padman have finally realized that there film would not stand against the mountain who has destroyed the whole year release domino of Hindi cinema. Makers of Padman seemed very firm on their decision of not moving their release despite of the fact that they knew Padmaavat was going to release on the same date but their confidence was on 120th floor of Akshay Kumar’s building and it all finally came crashing down.

Siddharth Malhotra starrer Aiyaary which was also suppose to release on 26 January humbly shifted their release to 9 February giving a good two week head to Padmaavat to run all it can though film will be strong for four weeks if gets the vote of confidence from the audience. Padman team repeatedly spoke about how they are not going to move the release date come what may bu their little 20 crore film could not stand at all to the 200 crore monster Sanjay Bhansali has made. Padmaavat has been the most awaited film of an year now and all this controversy has proven o be fuel in the hype fire.

As Padmaavat announced 25 Janury, Aiyaary moved to 9 February and Anushka Sharma starrer Pari moved to March 2 from 9 February giving space to Aiyaary and Luv Ranjan’s Sonu Ke Tittu Ki Sweety. Now since Padman is a big film under it’s own estimation with an almost star like Akshay Kumar, Sonu Ke Tittu Ki Sweety might have to move from it’s release date giving space to Aiyaary and Padman in order to finally have a clash. Makers of Padman could have saved themselves some embarrassment by not opening their mouths to loud about their very firm release date and should have just moved when somebody whispered the name Padmaavat in their ears.
