Akshay Kumar’s upcoming release Padman gets it first look poster. Film is based on Arunachalam Muruganantham, who is a small time entrepreneur from Tamil Nadu. Arunachalam invented cost effective sanitary napkin to create awareness in rural area. Reportedly Akshay Kumar finished shooting for Padman in about 37 days, which is usually how much Kumar takes, they don’t call him a producer’s darling for nothing. Padman is directed by R.Balki whose last film Ki&Ka did not do to well with the critics or box office, while producer of the film is Twinkle Khanna.
Padman also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in key characters. This is the 2nd time Sonam is collaborating with Akshay from their last film Thankyou in 2011. Akshay Kumar for last few years has been doing issue related films though keeping them in entertainment zone in order to reach maximum number of people. His latest release Toilet- Ek prem katha is based on the rural India issue of not having toilets in the house because of hypocritical beliefs. Akshay’s previous releases such as Airlift, Jolly Llb2 and Rustom also deal with the topics which is directly related to society.
Toilet starring Akshay kumar and Bhumi Padnekar will release on 11th august with a lot of hype. Post Padman Akshay will be seen in a film called Gold which is directed by Reema Kagti (Talaash) and is based upon the first Olympic winner of free India post Independence. Gold will release on Independence day 2018 and Akshay is also going to do a biopic on the biggest name of music industry that was; Gulshan kumar, film is titled Mogul.
