Ajay Devgn announced his film based upon legendary Maratha warrior ‘Taanaji’ a while back but since the film is a historical and massive in scale it needed to have preparations. To go and make a film about different time zone of the world is something that needs a lot of detailing which has to be worked out in advance though Ajay has been eyeing to begin this shoot for a while now but could not since he had other prior commitments. He has been closely associated with the project and called it one of his most ambitious of all time.
Ajay has done some big budget films in his career but only to the extent that his stardom can support and not beyond that while making a historical is a massive investment anyways and more so when you are declaring the story of an epic scale war. Ajay mostly does medium budget films to which he knows the recovery plan of because his following guarantees a certain amount of audience that will come in to the play and the number shall increase if the film is good.
He recently released his realistic drama/thriller Raid and it went on to do a great business on the box office despite of alternate content. As far as the production value is concerned, this film might be the biggest one in the long filmography of his which is highly decorated with superhits from Rohit Shetty. Ajay will start shooting for his upcoming film which is being produced by Luv Ranjan and co-stars Tabu. It seems to be an urban romantic/drama but age according as no actor in this film is in the position to do a coming of age story but more like mid crisis. Ajay will start shooting for ‘Taanaji’ in the month of August.
