63rd Filmfare awards announced, Irrfan Khan wins best actor for Hindi Medium

The most prestigious award ceremony in Hindi film industry by the name of Filmfare announced it’s winners and the worthy are as follow. Prolific actor Irrfan Khan bagged the award for best actor because of his incredible performance in superhit film Hindi Medium. Rajkumar Rao got home with the award for best actor critic as his unique performance in Trapped was the most raved one of the year by the critics. Astonishing Vidya Balan got the best actor in a leading role female for her phenomenal performance as a housewife/radio anchor in Tumhari Sulu.

Critics award for Best actor female was received by wonderful Zaira Wasim as her performance in Secret Superstar fell like a rock on everybody else considering her tender age. Ashwini Iyer Tiwari won the best director award for her comedy/drama film Bareilly Ki Barfi starring Ayushman Khurana and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. Konkona Sen Sharma, who has been an actor for over a decade now has won Best debut director for her brilliant film A Death in the Gunj. 2017 could very well be described as the year of Rajkumar Rao as he grabbed the award for best actor in a supporting role for his hilarious performance in Bareilly ki Barfi.

Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar is winning hearts all over the world as Meher Vij received best actor in a supporting role female award. Pritam is a genius and a rewarded one in best music album category for Ranbir Kapoor starrer Jagga Jasoos. Surprisingly enough Amitabh Bhattacharya won best lyrics for ‘Ulla ka patha’ a song from Jagga Jasoos in an year where Jab Harry Met Sejal’s album was in competition. Arijit Singh won best playback singer male for ‘roke naa ruke naina’ from Varun Dhawan starrer Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Best original story went to Amit Masurkar for Newton and best dialogue to Hitesh Kewalya for Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.
