Mumbai University is a university which is facing criticism for a long time for delaying its results of various courses has finally informed the Bombay High Court as the students filed a petition against the university for the same reason that it is now going to complete the assessment of the answer sheets and will upload the results of TYBCom and LLB today on its official website mu.ac.in. The university’s website got crashed and due to that reason it declared the results but could not upload it on their website. Now it has declared that the university will upload all the undergraduate examinations on its website by September 6.
The university has faced too much criticism for missing the deadlines for the sixth time of the result announcement date. Initially it was announced by the university that they will declare all the results on July 31. As an explanation for the delay, the university counsel Rui Rodrigues told the court the reason for the delay was due to the Ganpati festival and heavy rainfall in Mumbai on Tuesday that led to delay in assessment process.
Due to the delay in delay, the bench of justices Anoop V Mohta and Bharati Dangre directed the state Common Entrance Test Cell to extend the deadline to September 6 for applying to the university’s three year law courses. The university’s counsel, Rodrigues gave a complete date wise and subject wise justification about the examinations that took place n total and also the total number of assessments done till now. He further added that due to the festivals that occurred, teachers took day off from work.
The CET cell in regards to the courts ordered that it had earlier extended its August 31st deadline to September 5 and now further extension might not be possible. With this the court said that the cell must keep in mind the interest of the students who had to suffer fpr no faults of theirs and directed to extend the deadlines as mentioned. The bench further added taking side of the students that several students are unable to seek admissions to law colleges of their choice due to the absence of their undergraduate marksheets and the cell must consider this.
