Mumbai University gives a date for law paper assessment, results still awaited

The Mumbai University seems to check the patience of the students as it has already missed three deadlines for the declaration of the result. But there is a good news for the law students now that the university has provided a date for the assessment of the law papers and that is August 24th. The officials confirmed that a small portion of the law papers are yet to be assessed and therefore the assessment is expected to be completed latest by Thursday. With the completion of the assessment, the results are expected to be declared by this weekend.

As per Vinayak Dalvi, an official who has been appointed on special duty for the responsibility of the results. Dalvi said that certain new strategies have been adopted with the help of Rashmi Oza who is the university dean for the law department and also N M Rajadhyaksha the principal of New Law College, Matunga. There is a assessment process going on for the teachers who will be tagged in the policy and are eligible for the same.

Nearly 1 lakh students appeared for the final examination in the month of April and May and are awaiting the results eagerly. The students who will be pursuing Masters degree are also not able to apply for the same and some have also lost the opportunity to study abroad. Due to this reason, three students have filed a petition against the university in the High Court over the negligence in the result declaration. Not only this, the students have also asked for monetary compensation of Rs 10 lakh. However, the university is positive on declaring the results within a weeks time.
